Just got the word from Sweetwater that my Kawai MP8II is on its way and shall arrive this Friday via FEDEX.
I am so excited!!!!!!
I will post a nice review once it arrives and I set it up.
Now time to keep looking for some nice monitors, so far I am considering Polk.

And I am pondering PCIe audio interface cards--- Cubase sneered at the one that came with the computer (of course). The manuals say the existing one must be removed and (or) uninstalled before the new one can be installed, with driver, etc. A little scary, since the existing sound "card" appears to be integral, on the system board.
I'd be interested to know how the Polks work out for you, or whatever you choose.
Dewster is still waiting for me to send the test file for the mp8ii so he can analyze it--- you might beat me to it.

PS- don't forget to run the firmware update from the Kawai website first thing

Thanks for the info on the update.
I am still researching the monitors. I will post again once I make a decision.

Now time to keep looking for some nice monitors, so far I am considering Polk. I'm stoked for you. Getting new gear is always an exciting thing. I'm anxious to read your review. I bought the RD700GX last summer and recently upgraded it with the KRD700GX-1 card, and if I didn't have this combo, the Kawai MP8II would be my first pick. I've heard nothing but great things about the action and sounds from the MP8 series. I'd love to play the my RD side by side with an MP8II. Congrats on the new board! Cheers,

The manuals say the existing one must be removed and (or) uninstalled before the new one can be installed, with driver, etc. A little scary, since the existing sound "card" appears to be integral, on the system board. You simply disable the motherboard audio. On a PC, when booting press the appropriate key to access your system settings (CMOS), change the audio settings, save, and you're all set to install the audio card.
