Last week, Mattardo asked if I'd consider a weekly "broadcast." Well, I'm not sure if I can manage a weekly, but here's the next episode, and it's been a week.

This week's postcard has to do with the very first steps of a piano refurbishing project. WARNING: The piano is still out of tune, and the humor is still corny!...

Funny you should say that, Mattardo. I was kind of keeping it under wraps from my wife as I was working on it, because I didn't want to spoil the comedy with a preview, (if there was any comedy), and I wanted to see what kind of reaction I would get from her when it was done...a sort of focus group of one. ...If it didn't even get a chuckle, I wouldn't post it. She knew I'd been practicing the music for "I Love Her" all week, and she caught me jotting lyrics at the piano. "Are you taking notes about your piano?" she asked. "No, I'm writing some new lyrics to this song, but it's a secret," I said. That was my big blabbermouth mistake. Anyway, I sent her and my daughter out of the house so I could make the recording.

When the recording was finished and she listened to it, she mostly smirked. A little frown. A little pout. And when it was over, she said, crestfallen, "I thought you were writing a song for me for my birthday!"

"Well, um... I... uh...," I said. "It's not your birthday, yet..."

"Still, it had some funny bits," she said. So, I posted it.

Thanks, CA! Thanks al-mahed! I'm glad you liked it! As the Cat in the Hat says, "Look at me, look at me, look at me now! It is fun to have fun, but you have to know how!" I'm just havin' some fun... Plus, I'm really enjoying the sheet music from the 20s, 30s and 40s that I got at the Rockford Sheet Music Fesitval a couple of weeks ago. Wait 'til you hear "I Faw Down An Go Boom!"

That's a powerful instrument Andy, although not always perfectly in tune. Good crescendo and decrescendo, great (sucking) action. And it's rare to find one in F# don't you think?

LOL!!! It, too, is practically an antique. It is actually F#4-G4-C#7, and modulates from there. Good ear, Canonie!
