Hi all,
I am looking for THE BOOK on scales, arpeggios, cadences, etc.
My idea is that there has to be a book only for that, and I wouldn't need to look every scale between the books.

I use Alfred's. All information is freely available online but I liked it in one place and there is some useful discussion in the book.

The Keyboard Grimoire - saw this at Sam Ash yesterday...jeez. Maybe someday I'll need that kind of reference...but not for many many years.
EDIT: Not sure if there is a Piano Grimoire - might be.

the alfred one is like the biggest one out there..i needa get one too..debating on that and the berklee one..i think the berklee one has more on cadences and minor keys and such..if someone knows the better one let me know cause im looking to grab one

Those in the market for a free download might Google around for Cooke's Mastering the Scales and Arpeggios. Well... I really like the idea of promoting good learning materials, plus, I prefer to have a book I can have handy instead of using the computer or printing pages I will loose, fold, etc. I am sure I will be using the book for years, that's why the thread.

ya you need the actual physical copy...what the hell u gona do print out like 100 pages off google and try reading that over your piano..thats crazy..the books only like 10 bucks

I very much agree with everyone in the above posts. The Alfred "The Complete Book Of Scales, Chords, Arpeggios, & Cadences" is the best one.

I've got that book, "The Source" as well as the "FJH classical scale book" which is similar to the Alfred one above.
I got the Source because I wanted to know the fingerings for seventh chords and their inversions, which the classical books don't cover, apart from the dominant seventh. The book also has fingerings for modes but I haven't looked at those yet. The Source doesn't cover arpeggios or triads but the classical scale books do, so the two books complement each other. The Source is more for people interested in getting into jazz.

The FJH Classic Scale Book is a good one. It has two pages dedicated to each scale that includes chords broken chords, arpeggios, progressions etc.
