That ISLAMEY is incredible! I must have watched it a dozen times already. (I save these to my RealPlayer library)
Never heard the RUSH HOUR before and I love it!
What a treat this has been. Like a private concert in Jeffrey's music room!

WOW. That Islamey was great! It's such a cool piece. Interesting harmonies sometimes... And an annoying octave gliss...

WOW. That Islamey was great! It's such a cool piece. Interesting harmonies sometimes... And an annoying octave gliss... I never miss an opportunity to say how much I dislike this piece, JB's performance notwithstanding! If you want to hear some equally dazzling pianism by Jeffrey Biegel in a work that is no more profound than "Islamey" - but, at least, less bombastic, listen to this! Schulz-Evler "concert arabesques" Effortless, Viennese schmaltz, served with charm and grace! As they say : "Ya gotta luv it!" What is so winning about Mr. Biegel's performance is that one has no idea how difficult this work is until one sees the score; then: Wow! How does he do it? Regards,

I never miss an opportunity to say how much I dislike this piece, JB's performance notwithstanding! But it was generous of you to take the time to watch it! The big 'hit' for me was Rush Hour in Hong Kong. Blimey, I've never heard it dispatched with such an incandescent sparkle, all seasoned with the faint scent of opium.

BruceD, I'm sorry you have don't like Islamey. I enjoy it, because when I hear a good performance, I can really imagine the oriental fantasy it is supposed to portray.
That Strauss was also excellent! Wow!

BruceD, I'm sorry you have don't like Islamey. [...] I appreciate the sympathy. Don't worry, however, since I have learned to live without "Islamey" in my life! Cheers!

Truly amazing....... Btw, is he on a Steinway B? Whatever it is, it's too bad it's not in tune. It sounds as though it needs voicing, too. I guess it gets a pretty heavy workout under his hands, but for sharing, well, it's just too bad ...
