Hello.
Last Thursday I picked up a Roland HP147R for a staggering $1000. (free delivery though) (expensive I know for a used DP) I was interested in this 7 year old keyboard because it had Aux Line in and out. This piano sounded great at the persons house I picked it up from. Upon getting it home I noticed that the velocity on some notes played softly were occasionally played loud.
I posted this used piano up for sale the next day and with full disclosure of the problem. I asked for $1200 Canadian firm and 5 days later it was sold. WOW!!!! I couldnt believe it!!! I made $200 in a few days.
Tomorrow I am going to pick up a YDP 161 from a local store in Canada for $1488. I am gonna ask him to swallow the 5% sales tax and hope to get it for that price total. I can't wait.
Does anyone own a YDP 161 and if so tell me about the pros and cons... THX

5%? Must be nice! In Ontario we pay 13% . . . .

I have it at home and been playing non-stop for an hour.
PRET-TY GOOD!!!
The quality of the samples is far superior to the older Roland. WOW!!!
This almost sounds as good as my favorite VST plugin THE AKOUSTIK by Native Instruments (It is 28 GB soundbank though)
I can't wait to run it thru midi into my amplified speakers and mixer via Cubase and Akoustik VST
The action is very nice and feels quite realistic. I am impressed with the reproduction of the authentic low end feel and sound.
YDP 161 for $1498 ....
Sooooo HAPPY!!!!

I haven't felt this good about a purchase in a loooong while.
Not since I purchased my Rokit 8's (studio powered monitors)

In which case, do NOT send Dewster an mp3 and stop reading this forum now!! Glad you are happy with your piano. Best wishes, Steve
