I love my modest budgeted YDP 161

The feel is very authentic.

The timbre and depth of the sound is quite expressive and impressive.

The action is very good, very realistic. Sounds much better at home than it did in the store.

The bass notes are very deep and true. The high notes are crisp and accurate.

I love my black-satin CA93: the biggest sound experience, the best action and the most beautiful design for my budget! wow

I am glad you like it!!! Looking at the specs....damn!!! expensive??? I bet it is!

Wooden keys, 192 polyphony, 135 watts

Very jealous of this piano...NICE SPECS

I've had a Clavinova CLP 320 for four years now and am very satisfied. I paid a little over CDN $3,000 in Toronto. Soon after I got it, I discovered it wouldn't play MIDI files that I had on a USB device, but Yamaha sent a technician who replaced the computer board, and everything is now fine. The specs say it has MIDI Out, but what I would like is to be able to RECORD in MIDI rather than a proprietary Yamaha audio format. Maybe I'm confused, but I think MIDI Out means you can connect it to a MIDI device. Anyway, recording is not important to me. I just use it as a standard piano.

I can't compare the Yamaha CLP 320 to other digital pianos, but the reviews of it are great, and I like it as much or better than many upright acoustic pianos I've played and heard.

One place to find specs and photos, is at

de_schreiber, are you sure that you purchased your CLP320 four years ago?

I believe the CLP300 series were announced at the end of 2008 and first exhibited at Winter NAMM 2009.

Kind regards,
James

You put me in the mood to sing the praises of our DP:

I found our Yamaha P120 to be adequate for its purpose and somewhat reasonable in cost. But we just sold it to make way for something better.

I'm an extremely happy owner of a rosewood Roland HP 203. It's a great piano! The sound is very good, quite expressive, and sounds well through the speakers. The action is great, a bit on the heavier side, and it's very "deep" (as in, the key moves quite a lot when pressed, more than on some other digitals).
As you can see in the pictures, I even use the top of the piano as a shelf for random cables, my headphones or my laptop, when i connect it to the piano!

Nice pix and interesting comments Vid_w, particularly on key weight and travel.

Keep your eye on it though. Your DP is getting very close to the trash bin, it might be trying to make an escape! wink

My thoughts exactly.

Johan, where did you find those shrunken head busts? Were you on a trip deep in the Amazon?

I'm so sorry to hear that; my life is much easier, having only two rules:
1. My wife is always right.
2. If not, then rule no. 1 applies. grin wink

I still love my CA111, it has already fooled 2 professional concert pianists that its a real piano (yes when they were playing it!). Will be my first and last digital piano, a nice Kawai Grand will be next.

I still love my Nord Electro 2.

Sure, it doesn't have the latest and greatest downloadable Nord EP sounds, but it's still a cracking board - and light enough to cycle to band practises with.

Victor25, nice shots! Wait, that's *not* a real piano!?

Cheers,
James
