That was from the Rhumba rhythm setting on my Roland there -
All the rhythms have the flashing lights that I try to pay attention to and play along with (not always too successfully). It was fun to use it with Tico Tico, though.

It's great to play along with the different rhythms, Latin, Swing, etc.. sort of like playing with a little band.

I enjoyed your "Simple Gifts"! As always, very gracefully played and lovely to listen to.

Ed, please post some more of your old Hammond recordings.. they're sensational!

Yes, Elssa, that recording was really bad. The playing, though, was quite nice. I think that your bad recording captured a bit more of the bass than did Ed's.

Thanks, Dennis. Yes, I remember I had a loud bass setting on with the pedals for that one. Too bad I didn't have my Zoom H2 recorder back then, though. Maybe I'll redo it now.. still have that same organ.

Again, the recording quality was very poor. I tried to do a bit of equalization with Audacity, but I don't think it helped much. All the lower tones seem to get mixed into a generic blob of sound, so the pedal and LH have a rhythmic effect, but the individual tones are often hard to make out.

Riddler We played Appalachian Spring one year in marching band. I think I was in 9th grade. That is about when I fell in love with the song:)

Wow, you sound like a real pro on the organ, Ed! Loved the way you played "Jealousy" - very vivacious! That was always one of my favorites, though I never played it on organ. "My Funny Valentine" was terrific, too - very smooth runs & fills, cool counter-melodies, etc.

Got any more recordings around? Lady of Spain? I think your sound quality is better than mine. Encore!

Ed & Elssa, I am enjoying all the organ pieces. Cumaná was especially nice. I like a bit of Latin flavor in the morning. I had better since I married a Cubana.

z32 ... not my favorite song (actually I don't like it!) but I thought you did a real nice job with it anyway. Particularly that last rolled chord!

Larry, I wonder if you used a different mic placement or set the recording level differencty or something? That recording sure has the "digital" sound to my ears, but what do I know? Not much, evidently.

mcasl, Bach's inventions aren't easy. This sounds nice.

Dennis, yes, I frequently experiment with mic placement and recording levels. If I can't get it the way I like it, I may have to break down and buy some better mics.

MCASI - Very nice job on the Bach! It is definitely recital-worthy.
