Augustina, Simple Gifts sounds like the hymn Lord of the Dance. I love that one. Nice!

Well, I'm not great at coming up with comments, but Here they are TrueBeginner- that was great! Peyton I've never heard of Lenard Cohen, But great preformance, and love the singing:) Andy- that was so pretty:) Rickster- You always seem to have so much fun playing your songs it was fun to listen to, great job!:) Ed, That was very well played, and I enjoyed Tico Tico also:) Elssa, I liked watching the light on the piano, From the metronome?:) Tico Tico was also fun to listen to, great job! Glen, loved your songs:) Bill, another great song:) LadyPayne nice job on Turkey and the Straw, and Corpse Bride was kind of hard to keep the rhythm, but I don't think it sounds that bad:) LaValse- That was very pretty, nicely played too:)

DUET GIRLS - For the tricky rhythms on Corpse Bride, well done! I like this very much. (I really think you guys should come up with a separate name for your duo ) AUGUSTINA- Very nice on Simple Gifts! Such a great melody, another one well done.

Elssa, I liked watching the light on the piano, From the metronome?:) That was from the Rhumba rhythm setting on my Roland there - All the rhythms have the flashing lights that I try to pay attention to and play along with (not always too successfully). It was fun to use it with Tico Tico, though. It's great to play along with the different rhythms, Latin, Swing, etc.. sort of like playing with a little band. I enjoyed your "Simple Gifts"! As always, very gracefully played and lovely to listen to.

.... Well, here's something I used to play on electric organ (with pedals) and finally got an arrangement together for my DP (Roland).
TICO TICO (Abreu) ... Elssa, that was so good! You are so good with those rhythms! Oldtimers (namely, me) are fond of saying some piece of music has brought back old memories. Well, this one really did, especially since you mentioned playing it on an organ. Here is a recording of yours truly playing this song on a Hammond Organ in (hold onto your hat) 1979! http://www.box.net/shared/je5ezuuc2bPedals are fun aren't they? My organ recordings were made with a $10 cassette recorder, sitting on the floor, using the cheapest cassette tapes from Kmart, so there is an excessive amount of ooh pah pah, and a bit of hiss. But that's ok, covers up the mistakes! Ed, please post some more of your old Hammond recordings.. they're sensational! Here's one I did on my Conn organ (with pedals) back around 1980, also with a cheap little recorder, so sound quality is not so hot (okay, really bad): BRAZIL

LaValse, I really enjoyed that Schumann, I didn't know this piece, but it sounds strangely familar, similar to something. Then the penny dropt...isn't it: "O Iesu Mawr"?

Yes, Elssa, that recording was really bad. The playing, though, was quite nice. I think that your bad recording captured a bit more of the bass than did Ed's.

LaValse, very nice work on the piece by Schumann. Ladypayne and Augustina, love those duets!!! Lots of fire in that one! Augustina, nice work on Simple Gifts. I've grown very fond of that tune because of the version that Aaron Copeland incorporated into "Appalachian Spring". Someone extracted the Simple Gifts section and posted in on Youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiLTwtuBi-oEd

Here's one I did on my Conn organ (with pedals) back around 1980, also with a cheap little recorder, so sound quality is not so hot (okay, really bad): Elssa, holy cow, I used to play Brazil too, and in a style not unlike yours! Great listening! OK, here are a couple of recordings I resurrected. On this one you can hear how much I liked to work in a lot of tension and drama: Jealousy http://www.box.net/shared/t1n45rfppnAnd on this one I was really really into creating counterpoint: My Funny Valentine http://www.box.net/shared/2g16zc9yc5Again, the recording quality was very poor. I tried to do a bit of equalization with Audacity, but I don't think it helped much. All the lower tones seem to get mixed into a generic blob of sound, so the pedal and LH have a rhythmic effect, but the individual tones are often hard to make out. Ed

Riddler We played Appalachian Spring one year in marching band. I think I was in 9th grade. That is about when I fell in love with the song:)

Loved the way you played "Jealousy" - very vivacious! That was always one of my favorites, though I never played it on organ. "My Funny Valentine" was terrific, too - very smooth runs & fills, cool counter-melodies, etc. Got any more recordings around? Lady of Spain? I think your sound quality is better than mine. Encore! Well, here's one more, playing for one of my local clubs, also around 1980 - with the same lousy recorder (sorry): CUMANA

z32, nice job on an oh-so-familiar song. You have captured the haunting beauty of the song quite well.

Ed & Elssa, I am enjoying all the organ pieces. Cumaná was especially nice. I like a bit of Latin flavor in the morning. I had better since I married a Cubana.

z32 ... not my favorite song (actually I don't like it!) but I thought you did a real nice job with it anyway. Particularly that last rolled chord!

Larry, it's rather a surprise to hear your digital rather than the L. Nice composition with an interesting texture and flow. Another great listen.
