I wish I could still find a link to the one that said "you push the black and white things on the front and sound comes out the back".

The music rack makes me think of a Chickering, maybe not. Probably just as well that Illinois is so far away...

I've seen this ad posted regularly for at least six months now, but I always thought it was a joke. I'm suspicious because the tuning price is extremely low for NYC, and it's also difficult to believe that a tech would try to drum up business in this manner. But then again, it IS New York, and there are a ton of crazy people here who might be really into it.

Now I can excuse thinking that a 20th century piano is from 1850, but an electronic organ??? http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/msg/1902162328.html

YIKES... even though he is almost certainly joking, I think I'd be really nervous having such a cretin touch my piano. All the techs I know are very polite and cultured. That kind of ad is absurd.

Patented in 1907, but might be a little bit older? Is this sort of like going back to the future? http://houston.craigslist.org/msg/1902494541.html

Considering the supposed history of this piano, I would be verrrrry cautious of what might be lurking inside that makes it 'funky.' Ewwww. http://reno.craigslist.org/msg/1893007501.html

If I recall correctly from the book Blues People by Leroy Jones, the original meaning of the word "funky" is a smell arising from activities of the type the Mustang Ranch promoted. I think Elton said "And we`ll leave the smell of the sea in your beds" from Sweet Painted Lady... are you talking about that Funky smell?

Here's a real bargain Steinway. Not really funny, but somewhat unusual on Craigslist. Kees
