Yamaha, fire up your attorneys! Trademark infringement and counterfeiting, etc. was the subject of another major article in Music Trades - Fighting Chinese Fakes.

It actually doesn't read Bösendorfer, but the intention is clear... I wonder what did they print on the iron plate.

Ah, just like the good old days of piano naming! I have a Chickering Bros. grand to tune today.

In fact, Chickering Bros. was another branch of the family, but they were a different company. They were in Chicago.

Clearly this is not a Bosendorfer piano.

The attempt is comical to me. Could anyone actually think they are buying a Bosendorfer if they invest in this beast??

Unless the pronounciation of 'Bösendorfer' in Chinese is rather problematic and that a slippery of the tongue is easily made I would be more concerned to know if the Yamaha that is being offered by this dealer is genuine.

As I said about another piano, it is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Hello everybody,
Looking at the Bosndofer, The style reminds me extremely so of a piano that I used to use on a trolley to entertain on mobile gigs. The strange thing is that the piano I had was a Klinger which wasmade in Vienna. When I bought the piano it had a store sticker on the fall when read "Glenns Music " If I remember the city was Pretoria.
Does anybody know anything of Klinger pianos??? I cannot seem to find any record of them and just wondered if they were a stencil.

The date I cannot remember although it was written on the keys..
For a small upright it did have a very good sound in spits of the soundboard being in terrible shape.

For me the mystrey deepens.
Thanks Guys

John,

I live in Pretoria and have never heard of a "Glenn's Music" store.
