I've decided to upgrade my X-shaped keyboard stand for something with more legroom underneath. I'm trying to decide between a Z shaped stand like this and a table shaped stand like this.

For some reason I thought one could buy music holder attachments for stands like these but I can't find any. Are those only found on high-end digital pianos? Should I just stick a regular music stand behind the keyboard instead?

Isn't the second tier usually meant to carry an extra keyboard?

I suppose if it is narrow enough and can be tilted a little more upright, you could use it to hold the top half of a music stand, but the position seems a little awkward compared to, say, this.

Buy a Manhasset music stand. You can always share its use on a job and it will have more flexibility than a dedicated keyboard music stand or keyboard stand stand. smile
