I have a old piano made by Lakeside that I just acquired from my MIL and now we are trying to figure out how far back it dates. I know that it was her mother's that was bought by her parents when she was very young---she would be 87 years old now. But the piano was not bought new and we have no record of how much farther it goes back other than it was bought from a neighbor way back when. So what I know is that it was made by Lakeside and the serial number is 138401. Oh, it is also an upright and a player piano. Does anyone know anything about this type of piano? Thanks! smile

It was made about 1923. It might have a little value if it still has the player mechanism, but age and a changing marketplace will have diminished most of its value. The piano atlas says the company was associated with Everett and Cable Nelson.

Thanks! I am not concerned with value other than more of the sentimental family value, kwim? (Unless it was really worth LOTS!---which I highly doubt). I just wanted to get an idea of how old it is since no one else in the family knows and would like to continue to have it for our children. Thanks again smile
