I'm just wondering, How many of you wonderful, beautiful people here at piano world forums use more than 1 keyboard for their rig (or just messing around, practicing and such) ?

I have an okay CDP-100 (88-key), along with a Micro korg (I usually use with my left hand, so on the left side. Bass sounds usually) as well as an older casio (probably from 1999 or something) that I use strictly for organ sounds sitting right above my CDP.
IF the world went my way, I'd totally just have 2 NORD electro's one on top of the other. haha.

I used to. A couple of synths, bass pedals... Was always looking for the single keyboard that did the job acceptably well. I think I'm as near to that as I'm going to get with my Kurzweil PC3.

I've got a yamaha cp-33 for the keys and
a roland pcr-800 for the sliders and such
(although it's got 5 octaves of lite keys, too)
I couldn't find one keyboard with EVERYthing.
Well, I did, but it was cheaper to buy 2.

When I was touring eons ago in the stoneage I had a Hammond B3 w/pair of 122 leslies,Yamaha Cp70 electric grand w/2 4115 cabinets,Fender Rhodes suitcase,Hohner D6 clavinet,Sequential circuits Prophet V synth,2 Mini moogs.Roland Axis controller and ?. Thank God for roadies.

Yamaha CP33 digital piano and a Roland VK7 organ and 2 Roland KC550 in stereo. If I can't carry it with one hand FORGET IT !

Piano Broker... I'm jealous (of the clav and rhodes)

Actually as for programable synths,Oberheim stuff was a bit later in the stoneage.
Before the Sequential circuits Prophet V,I had a Polymoog which is or was a major doorstop.Later on I even had the original Kurzweil 250 which was the very first digital sampled keyboard. Paul Schaffer still uses his on occasion along with his OBXA.

Not much. Prophet V came out in 1977 and the OBX came out in 1979.

I remember playing the Polymoog in a music store when it first came out. I didn't buy one. I did buy a CP70B, though.

Now back than with the progressive technology in analog synthesis, 2 years was a long time. When the Japanese got a hold of the technology as for analog synthesis /oscilators etc,it was Korg who first came out with the POLYSIX at $1395 retail, a single oscillator 6 voice polyphonic synth which manage to blow the roof off the high dollar $ domestic synth market. I was a product specialist for Unichord whom was the distrbutor of Korg in the USA. My friend whom was the former rep for Unichord /Korg quit to develop his own co. Ensoniq which later came out with the Mirage, a digital sampler keyboard which retailed for a mere $1795 which was a far cry from 12.5K for the Kurzweil 250. Musicians could not afford the Kurzweil 250, only the recording studios and wealthy musicians and or nonmusicians. I eventually got the Memorymoog which was suppose to be a 6 voice 3 oscillator Minmoog which it was not though pretty good if you could keep it in tune.

Oh, yes. Electro on the bottom, Evolver on top. Sometimes with a side of Microkorg and/or Fantom.

Other times it's Rhodes on the bottom, Electro on top, Microkorg on the left.

I have a box of Keyboard magazines from the late 70's that I've saved. Some winter I'm going to take several days off work, open up a case of wine, start a fire in the fireplace, and sit there beside it with both boxes and enjoy myself.

You're showing your age there gryphon,having been there from the beginning. Back than I didn't mind one bit moving that Hammond B3 with 2 leslies and that CP70 and ? even without roadies. Of course I was a just a young punk with that Rick Wakeman complex. You had to look the part though it helped if you could play. Back than it was alot more expensive to be a keyboard player compared to uh...guitar player.I was around when most would ask."Whats this midi thing all about" . wavelength- awh yeah, microkorg! Although the keys are a bit small for my fingers, I'm thinking of purchasing a new synth to replace my cheap casio as well... I was considering the microstation, or a 76-key keyboard with beautiful sound. But with reasonable price.

NORD electro would be the pick though, damn that thing sounds so good.
