There you go.

For a computer game (anti-war basically, thus the ending... *ahem*)

Enjoy!

Nice job Nikolas! I have not seen you around here for ages. I like the piece a lot. I don't understand the first several bars, but it's all good.

Hey Scott,

I've been around for a few months now. I come and go from PW, but never leave completely! laugh Thanks for listening.

The first several bars? What's wrong with the first several bars? smile

I know what it is. You have the trumpet beginning with the strings. I feel like it could be more effective if there was a lead-in with strings alone - even if it was just 2 bars. Is there music before this that we don't hear in this recording? If it's a game, I suppose there is music leading up to this. In that case, it would all make sense as it is.

Of course, there's nothing that demands the trumpet enter after the strings. It just feels to me it would help the flow initially. I like the melodic progressions throughout the piece.

heh... You got it right.

It is from a game, and while in this version this doesn't happen, normally the tune loops. So you get the ending (the Barber quote) starting the piece, which is strings 'solo'.

This is the ingame track, for an anti-war game and the menu music was very war like, so this kicks in with a great difference! smile

Thanks for your comments Scott

Yes, I heard the bit from Barber, but I was afraid to mention it. I also hear hints of Ravel (Pavane).

I'm not too scared to namecase my quotes, especially the intentional ones! The Barber quote was very much intentional, but the Ravel one (although I do see your point) was not... heh...

I really liked the piece. You've done a great job with the way you have voiced the strings and the way they slowly transition from one chord to another - for me the piece has a very open and spacious feeling.

Sorry for bumping this thread. Promise not to do it very often!

Still I managed to do a small video, for this very track, above, on youtube, which I'd like to share with you all! It gets a tiny bit 'ugly' towards the end, but I think that it's nothing too bad to share!

All comments are most welcome (especially about the video as well. My very first video and of course made from various images found in google! :D)
