Anyone here ever try the "Definitive Piano Improvisation DVD Course" (6 dvd's, 2 cd's, 1 Book) piano instructional course? If so, what did you think? I just ordered it from Amazon the other day to supplement my lessons (I go to classical lessons, have some past experience with ragtime/"popular music" lessons, but never had any improv training). Haven't received it yet but it seems to have high ratings. I'm pretty exicited to get it.

Well, I received the course in the mail yesterday. I'm a little disappointed. Not in the coarse, but I am missing 1 of the DVD's and the book! I called the seller to complain and he said I could return it, which I will. I bought it at Amazon.com but they didn't sell it directly. A third party was selling it through the website. A new copy of this course is about $185. This one was $160 and described as used but in great shape, not a partial set. The person I talked to said that he doesn't have the book or DVD which is why it is cheaper. Screw that. For that price I'd rather pay the extra $15 and get a complete set. I'm also a little ticked off about it because I spent extra to have it shipped quickly, which is something I never do. Now I have to spend my $$$ just to ship it back. I spoke and emailed Amazon about this, and got the same line both times. Try to settle with the original seller first. He already told me that he would give me my money back. I blame Amazon too since I'm using their site to purchase this product.

After all my ranting, however, from what I can see about the course it is very good. I'm looking forward to receiving the full version.

Thanks for the update. I'd be interested to hear about your progress as improvisation is something I'd like to get into too. Do you want to improvise Jazz?

I'll let you know how its going. I wouldl ike to improvise jazz too. I'll probably take it slowly since I'm also taking traditional lessons and don't want to fall behind there.
