Hi, everyone! I'm wanting to sell my Yamaha YDP121 digital piano. It came out in 2001, I believe. It's in excellent condition, and this past week, I had the entire keybed replaced by Yamaha (some keys were sticking due to the wrong kind of grease). The new keybed is a GHD/HED.

Previously, the key action was a HE (Hammer Effect). I'm hoping the new action is improved. Does anyone know what GHD stands for - "Graded Hammer..."?

Also what would be a fair asking price (US dollars). Thanks so much! My new Kawai CA-93 should be here in a few weeks.

That says a lot for Yamaha's service. I'd have expected them to say that the warranty expired years ago.

But digital pianos that are not longer the current production model really do not hold their value. Don't expect to get a lot for it. The best way to set the price is to figure out which new model compares with your YDP121. Perhaps maybe the YDP140 does? then ask 1/2 the new price of the YDP140. 50% of current on-line retail price as about right.

Remember a buyer will be comparing your paino to one he sees in the store and he will buy the one he thinks is the best value. Yours has to be a much better value than anything in a Guitar Center or Sam Ash store. 50% of current retail is about right. Comparable pianos sell for about $700 or $800 or you might ask $350 or $400 (or maybe ask $50 more and settle for that)

it's almost 10 years old. should sell for at most 50% of original price, or maybe even a little less.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I have a family interested, and want to be fair with them.
