Hello,
I am new to DP and to this forum. So, please go easy with me!
From last 2 weeks I have been reading/experimenting to buy new DP. When started, first I did research on the Internet and talking to teacher / friends. Initially my list contained CLP320. Went to local store (in UK) played and liked it very much but salesperson introduced to Kawai CN32. Honestly speaking myself and my daughter immediately fell in love with Kawai. Talking to friends and sales persons, suggested to upgrade to CN42/CLP340. Again CN42 shined and liked it very much, features, sound etc., Also liked CLP340, but sounded bit rounded and deeper. Anyways, came back home after trying and playing for 40-50mnts in store. Looked on the net for review on CN42 and in this forum, bumped into CN33. went back to store and couldn't find one. According to salesperson, manual, websites and this forum, I got little bit carried away and order one from thomann. Not sure what to expect though which I never played. But I am quite confident that CN33 is as good as CN42 / CN32 or even better with new RH let-ff & ivory touch. I would like to thank people in this forum for giving valuable information about CN33.

One question I got for people who purchased from Thomann.de in UK. Do the DP come assembled or boxed? If we have to assemble how difficult and does it require professional help?
Once fitted any tuning or that sort required to get started?

Any help / advice on unpacking and people experience with CN33 is much appreciated.

Regards
John

Hello John,

First off, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new piano.

The CN33 is definitely better than the CN32, and with the new action and ivory touch key surfaces etc. is arguably better than the CN42 also.

The digital piano will arrive boxed, and will indeed require assembly. It's a relatively straight forward task though, so provided you read the instructions and have someone to help lift the heavy main piano body onto the stand, you should be fine.

Once assembled, just turn on, sit down, and start to play - there's no tuning required. Indeed, that's one of the strengths of owning a digital piano.

After you have the piano in place and have tidied away all the boxes and packaging, please consider taking a picture and adding it to this thread.

Good luck with the assembly!

Cheers,
James

Thanks James, Your reply is much appreciated.
It is good to know that CN33 is better than CN32 & CN42. I have asked this because I never had opportunity to play in the shop. But from your reply and reading others opinion in this forum I don't think it's a bad decision. I understand CN33 will not have all the bells and whistles of connectivity and MIDI2 and etc., of CN42 but in terms of longevity experience will be good and hoping it will be good enough to pass our daughter up to Grade 8 exams!

I will take your guidance during assembling and once all set-up will try and upload picture in this forum.

Can people who purchased from Thomann in UK , can you please share your experience.? How quick the delivery will be ? how good will be overall service.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Regards
John

Hi Srcfrguser,
I'm also an happy owner of the kawai cn 33 . As you I got it from Thomann and I was really very satisfied from their professionality.
The DP arrived in less than a week boxed of corse and as James already told you you will need a help from a couple of your friends to assemble it only because the keyboard is quite heavy.
I really think you will like your new DP about the sound, the touch and the many functions.
Let us know when it will arrive and send us some pics if you can.
Greetings

Thank you Daniala Danesi for giving me assurance about CN33 & Thomann.
I had placed my order yesterday(Sunday) and today received confirmation about my order, However, according to email it might take extra 2-5 days although it showed "in stock" when I ordered. Hence getting confused about there service.

I will wait to hear update from them and see that goes. Not knowing that delivery date,I am eagerly counting every minute of the arrival of my new CN33 and so is my daughter.

I will definitely take friends help during assembly. Thanks for your advice on that.

Regards
John

I can understand John you are a little nervous since you ordered your new DP anyway you must consider if the kawai cn 33 wasn't in the stock of the shop you must wait a little more.
When I ordered it was in the stock so I had to wait less than a week to get it at home considering that they sent it to me from Germany to Italy.
Everyting was boxed in a perfect way
I'm sure you and your daughter will be very happy about this new DP.
Greetings

One little advice: make sure you have a friend around when the piano arrives. I had mine delivered and had to wait a whole day until I could set it up!

You will need two persons to lift the main unit on to the stand. It's almost impossible to do it alone without severely risking your brand new instrument.

Hi srcfrguser, The only gripe I had when my piano arrived from Thomann's was that the delivery man turned up unannounced and I was not at home, however, I did get a call on my mobile from the courier company and the piano was subsequently redelivered the following morning.

Thanks laRate / bluebilly, appreciate your reply and advice.

bluebilly, Delivery man turning unannounced is not good and doesn't work for me as nobody will be at home next week, due to school starting and going back to work etc.,

One question to bluebilly, does it really take 7-10 day to arrive to UK using "Spedition"? How long it took for you once you received shipping confirmation/message.? So, I can roughly work out and set the expectation!

Thanks
John

I received the text message from Thomann saying my piano had been shipped on 11th August, the piano arrived on 18th August, it would have been here on 17th August but I wasn't at home.

He James, no I did not. I ordered my CN33 from a reasonably renown (local) dutch store. However, I do have one question for you! Do you have any clue why Kawai EU chose to not include a bench with this model as opposed to Kawai US?

That's a great question munq, however I'm afraid I honestly do not know.

However I gather it's a similar case for other digital piano manufacturers also - instruments produced for the US market always include a bench, while those produced for Europe do not.

Cheers,
James
