Hello fellow users of Pianoworld, far and near.

I'm a bit reluctant to create a topic here, because then people might think I'm a composer! But I have a question and felt it wouldn't categorize under other forums, so here it is.

I'm looking for a good MIDI-editor which allows me to do the following with MIDI-files:

  1. Transpose instruments, at least an octave.
  2. Delete instruments.
  3. Combine or merge instruments.
  4. Split instruments into right and left hand staves.
  5. Combine left and right hand staves.

I could do all this in Notation Composer but now they want some 88$ which I don't have lying around. Would be willing to cough up 50$ for such a thing. But I liked Notation very much. I was quicker to learn the basic features than I expected I would be.

Lastly if you know about notation programs under 50$ which do the above mentioned that could work for me. I was thinking I'd do those things with the MIDI then import it into MuseScore but I can just as well do it the other way around.

Best regards.

A midi sequencer can do 1. 2. and 3. but they are very clumsy & tedious when it comes to notation.

Thank you Studio Joe. I have downloaded and set up Anvil Studio, it seems to have a lot of possibilities.
