I am not sure wat to choose ,by looking at their pricing, U1J can be alot cheaper as compare to U1 from Japan. I was told U1J is made in Indonesia and it is somehow inferior for it's quality. What makes it a grade lower than e original U1 from japan? Is it becoz of it's wood quality, they said trees grow in Indonesia as the weather is quite hot and sunny throughout the year so it 's not the ideal wood for pianos, spruce and resources from country in northern hemisphere will be more ideal? is it true? pls help! \:\)

According to my information, the U1J was produced from Aug. 1977 to Nov. 1980 starting with serial number 2553935. The U1 was Mar. 1994 to Apr. 1998 starting at 5309412. Which would explain the price difference.
