hey,
comparing the ca63 vs hp307 action:
which one is faster, has better repetition and just allows you to play fast pieces without feeling like playing a Dp (as much as possible)?
thanks a lot
Eitan

Eitan, we're talking about digital keyboards not pianos. Play them both and you make the decision.

Buying a piano, a hybrid piano or a digital keyboard is subjective. You have to play them for yourself.

I also remember a teacher saying to me that hay [hey] is for horses.

I can't play the ca63. I thought about ordering it because no one has it here.
I just need an opinion...

I think the 307 keys are easier to do faster repitions on. But the 307 is lighter touch compared to the kawai. Its all one big balancing act with these digitals. Give up something here and gain something there.

Someone who has been in the industry for a while told me that the higher ups from roland and yamaha golf together and make sure they don't step on each others toes within the scopes of what they competitively do.

Interesting, but actually Roland and Yamaha compete in a lot of segments: stage pianos, workstations, digital pianos, just to cite a few.

I haven't played the CA-63 action but have owned a wooden action Kawai in the past. I own a PHA-III equipped Roland. I suspect the Roland is the quicker action but I also suspect the Kawai action would be more satisfying in a tactile sense. Just a hunch.

I don't recommend purchasing digital pianos that you have not been able to try.
Either take a trip to try the Kawai to compare for yourself or buy the Roland locally.

The point of Roland's 3 sensor PHA-III keyboard is faster repetition.
They also have a new PHA-III-S keyboard coming out on the new FP-7F that no one knows much about yet.

My impression was that the Roland is faster and that the wooden keyboard on the CA93 (not the CA63 that does not simulate escapement) might feel subjectively more like a real piano to some pianists. However, it is next to impossible to find a store where you can actually audition a CA93 in many parts of the world.

Based on an informal paraphrase of posts here over the past couple of years, classical players tend to prefer the HP307 over the CA63. The Yamaha tends to appeal to Yamaha enthusiasts.
