Hello,

although searching via Google, the forums and the manual I simply cannot find out how to do this simple thing: Do you by any chance know how I can change the default settings of my digital piano, so that I don't have to change the settings anytime I turn on my CLP? E.g. Brilliance.

Thanks,
Andreas

That's odd ... my Clavinova remembers everything.
Brilliance
Touch response
Voice selection
Reverb effects (separate setting for each voice)
Even the different split points for every combination of selected split voices.
Everything.

And that's all automatic. I don't even have a choice. It just happens. (The only way to make it un-happen is to do a master reset.)

Now, I don't have a 370. Mine is a 240. But I'd be surprised that the newer, more expensive model lacked this capability.

Some old devices depended upon a small coin-cell battery to remember settings in memory. When the battery died, the ability to save settings died with it.

But these days, things get saved in flash memory, requiring no battery. So the behavior you're seeing is a puzzler.

scavenger, there may be a 'User Memory' setting located in the instrument's system menus that stores the current setup to power-on memory.

Cheers,
James

Andreas,
you should have a look in the manual, here:
http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/emi/english/cla/cLP370_s306_en_om_b0.pdf

Backup functions (page 70)
Quote:
You can back up some settings, such as voice selection and reverb
type, so that they will not be lost when you turn off the power to the
Clavinova.
If the backup function is turned on, the settings at power off are
effective. If the backup function is turned off, the settings in memory
are erased when you turn off the power. In this case, when you turn
on the power to the unit, the default settings (the initial settings) will
be used. (The factory setting default list is found on page 98.)

Please, don't expect more details as I am not the owner of a CLP-370 (or a digital piano, yet ... whome).
Hope this helps.

A genius you are!

One of the four backup options was really off, that is why the settings never got saved.

I have no clue why and nor why you would call that backup option but thanks a lot smile

Andreas
