And it turned out rather lame. I had the piano volume set too high and it distorted a lot. Plus I made mistakes frown

Heres a second attempt at recording this piece, it turned out a bit better than the first time:

The problem with this piece is that it sounds rubbish on my piano without any sustain. Ive just been playing around with the reverb settings, and it still sounds wrong. I need a real stringed piano to play this piece on, or a much more expensive electric frown

Nice job! I like this rag a lot too. You did great with the current piano that you have. thumb

Yes, the use some pedal when it comes to some Joplin compositions makes them sound nicer and more elegant. Magnetic definitely fits the bill of needing some pedal.

It'd be nice if you access to an acoustic to do an acoustic recording. smile

Yea, *some* pedal is good, but I went overboard and played it how I do with headphones on, but it came out too ruined. Without the pedal though, it just sounds lame on the DGX 630 and just like 'tink tink tink' with no natural reverb, and trying to control it any more precisely would cause ankle suicide. I went through all the reverb settings on the piano, and they still sound worse than the sustain.

The first two sections sound ok to me on my recording, but parts 3 + 4 get really ruined with the sustain when compared to other recordings on a real piano frown. The second try was almost note perfect except for a screw up in part 4 and a couple of incorrect chords, but it still sounds wrong with this piano and a phone camera.

Basically, I really like this rag, but I dislike how my recording comes out.
