A vocalist friend of mine, Lindden, asked a favor of me last year. A close and dear friend of hers had terminal cancer. The lady had always been a huge fan of Lindden's singing and had followed her career through the years. She asked if she could get a little recording to remember her by.

We recorded this early last year. I just did get the sad news the other day that she finally succumbed to the cancer and passed away about a week ago.

Lindden told me her friend listened to this song, and two of the others we recorded for her, countless times in the past year. She said it brought her friend immense joy in her time of pain and despair--great that music can do that. I was honored to participate.

The recording is not any big production, piano & voice together, maybe two or three takes. It's lo-fi quality, I can't remember for sure but it was probably into my CD recorder with my Yamaha CP-300 DP. Anyway, it's the idea and sentiment that comes across.

Nice stuff, Dave. Music is such an important part of all stages of life, and it can certainly bring great joy in the latter stages, as you have done with your friend's friend. Keep up the good work.

It's quite lovely and Lindden's voice is wonderful as much as your piano playing! I can understand perfectly why your friend kept listening to this recording! And of course, music has many powers we still fail to grasp in a scientific way!
