Hey Guys,

I was walking through my local Costco today and spotted a Casio CDP 200R that came with a stand and an x-style bench. I think it also had a sustain stomp style pedal. It was $489.99 for the package. This model only has 48 note polyphony. They must have just got these in my Costco as I go in there often and more keyboards and cheap guitars were setup but not plugged in with a place to plug in anywhere in sight. This an 88 key graded hammer keyboard. It felt pretty good under my newbie fingers, much like the PX series. Thanks for any comments.

Jason

Why not the PX130? You can get a PX130 for $450.

I didn't have a chance to try the CDP's but in general their sound technology is less advanced than PX's ... I don't really know about the bells&whistles (my interest is pure piano) but if you do, I believe the PX-330 is worth few more $. If you want pure piano, PX-130 is pretty sure better choice than CDP smile

Thanks for the replies.

To ChrisA:
Because getting a PX130, stand, sp32 three pedal board, and a bench is going to be around $700. Having said that, I will probably just end up with a PX130. Nothing can really compare in price/performance in that range.

This model only has 48 note polyphony.

My good ole GranTouch 1 only had 32 note polyphony and I never noticed any notes dropping.

You can get a b-stock px130 $440 at Kraft and I doubt a beginner in the first year or so of instruction has a use for more than one pedal. I think most players never use more than one, not unless they get into some advanced classical music. If budget is tight buy only what you need right now and no more.

Last Christmas Guitar Center had the CDP100 for $299. At that price it is tempting to go with a CDP rather than a PX.

I appreciate all of the replies guys. I surely didn't mean the 48 note polyphony statement as a slam Dave although I can see how it might read that way. I am only a beginner. I probably couldn't overload 16 notes! Lol! I love these forums and you guys rock. Maybe someday I can return the favor and give other people sound advice.

ChrisA,

Would you advice The Pawn to go for a Korg SP250?

Its available @ zz sounds for 700$. RH3 action, 60 polyphony, single pedal, stand, 22W amp with speaker box, free earphones.

Or would the PX-330 be a better buy for 700$. Tri-sensor action, 128 polyphony, single pedal, no stand, 16W amp w/o speaker box?

Quality and sound-wise which would be better?

Brian
