Who can provide an in-depth comparison between the current Kawai and Yamaha silent piano implementations, including the keyboard, letoff and hammer stop modifications, the features and specifications of the digital piano, features such as MIDI, recording, etc.?

Does anyone have experience playing and evaluating both side by side?

theJourney, the AnyTimeX product brochure can be downloaded from here.

The specification sheet in the above PDF lists the standard information you would expect to find in a sales brochure, however for the more technical details such as hammer-stop modifications etc. you are perhaps best corresponding with Kawai Europe's acoustic piano staff directly.

Kind regards,
James

If I could find Kawai Europe acoustic piano staff with knowledge and the tendency to return emails or phone calls, that would be a great suggestion. Do you have any inside information on whom to contact?

I would recommend sending an email to one of the 'Klaviere' addresses on the following page:

http://www.kawai.de/contact_de.htm

Alternatively, if you wish to send me a private message with a list of the questions that have not bee answered by the brochure, I shall pass them on to the relevant individuals in the piano division.

Kind regards,
James

Hi James,

Unfortunately,

1. I do not have a local Kawai dealer;
2. Kawai Europe has not been able to answer my questions;
3. You have declined to answer my questions in a private message.

So, I am hitting a brick wall here.

Does anyone else on the forum have information on the differences between the Kawai ATX and Yamah Silent products?

theJourney,

1. Regardless of whether they are 'local' or not, I am confident that there are Kawai dealers in Holland that should be able to assist with your queries.

2. Kawai Europe's acoustic piano engineers should almost certainly be able to assist with your queries.

3. No, this is not true. I recommended that you first read the AnyTimeX product brochure, contact a Kawai dealer within your country, and then contact Kawai Europe if you still required assistance. Finally, I suggeested that if you still had unanswered questions, I would be prepared to forward them to my Japanese colleagues in the piano division.

I believe this is a perfectly reasonably course of action to pursue.

Kind regards,
James

Could you provide me with the contact information for my "Holland dealer"? Kawai Europe could not.

Kawai Europe also does not answer queries.

Unfortunately, in this case, neither do you.

Is it "Kawai James not answering?"
Or "Journey not listening?"

theJourney, I remembered that a Dutch music publication recently reviewed the ATX instruments. It should make for interesting reading:
