anyone have this book ? I been playing only classical thinking of trying a few "oldies".. seems this would be a good choice? or can anyone recommend something similar, (no easy piano, or fake books). Thanks

I actually do have this book. It's a bit too difficult for my modest abilities. But if you're playing at level 9, then it has some really nice transcriptions.

No, but I have other arrangements, like arrangements of opera arias and a huge Mozart collections with many piano arrangements, including symphonies, like No.40 (which I really love) and opera arias like The Queen of the Night.
While they are not like the original of course, it is nice to be able to play them on the piano.

This book is 'WAY too difficult for me - I checked a "look inside" version on Amazon, & the sample page was an Art Tatum arrangement! In my dreams!!!!! (Though I'll still probably buy the book, to have something to aspire to.)

I wish they would have a few more preview pages, I always wanted to play "five foot two", the only arrangements i could find are for "easy piano" this book has it and i hope it is a more advanced version.

For less advanced but still interesting arrangements (by Dan Coates) you might try this 50 Jazz/Lounge Standards

Probably below your level, Bobjr, but I'm getting a lot of mileage out of it.

You're in luck, bobjr. The arrangement of Five Foot Two is a Hazel Scott transcription. It's definitely not an easy version - it is, though, one of the more playable pieces in the book for me at least.
