Hi , i would like to do some recording on my piano, as a practice for my piano exam
Its a video recording , and the external microphone will be connected to the Canon EOS 550D, for a better sound than the internal recorder itself.
This internal microphone should have a 3.5mm jack , and my budget is between $40 to $50. Any microphone to recommend? Thanks.

I would require a microphone that is of reasonable quality, of course i am assuming that the quality of the microphone is pegged to the price of it.

Only decent mic I can think of in that price range is a Tascam ST1. Goes for about $30. Not a bad mic for the money.

Check the new Zoom H1. You can't beat that for less than $100 and it fits perfectly for the Canon 550D.

second that. OK it is a little bit out of budget, but it has the same professional condenser mics as a portable recorder of 400 dollars. Look here how it is mount on you Canon EOS :
