Thanks for bumping this up. I totally forgot about this October event.
Oh my! I did forget too, that's bad. Thakfully it's still August and my piece is not a monstrous thing to tackle.

Here is my submission. This is about the 52nd take-- it required more than that 45 tries! I finally learned to sing the trill. http://www.box.net/shared/uod1se0agrOn to attempting to record 16th century Polish lute music, for my final "Chopin 200" project. Yes, this recording process certainly is useful for learning. Mati, which of these pieces is NOT a monster? I was shocked at the difficulty of this innocent-looking little song! Elene

Hi all, We're still working on some technical issues. Greg has several hours of work to do in order to ensure that the submission process goes smoothly. Unfortunately, it's not quite as simple as flipping a switch! Greg has a nasty cold right now, so he might not be feeling up to the challenge in the short term. I know we all appreciate his hard work on these events. I myself never realized how many hours of behind the scenes prep is necessary to make these events possible. Thanks Greg! We still have four weeks before the e-cital date, so it's great to see such enthusiasm this early! Hang in there, and we'll post the "call for submissions" as soon as the site is ready. Regards, Heidi

Because I'll be leaving the US on Oct. 1, and in Paris on Oct. 17 (God willing!), I just want to make sure that my submission is someplace where you can find it at the appropriate time. I don't think there will be any problem with getting the Box.net file. (In fact, a bunch of people have downloaded it already-- Box.net keeps telling me so-- but no one has made any comments! That is making me a little nervous about it!) Sincere thanks again for all you are doing to make this event happen. Greg, I'm sending you virtual herbs for your cold! Elene

No problem, Elene. We might be accepting submissions before October 1, but if not, we'll make sure we have yours before you leave.
You are going to have a great trip!

I promise a one of a kind performance. After you hear "MacArthur Park" in a few days, you will be drawn even closer (or further away!), but nothing neutral.
A Speedo video is certainly NOT off the table. Heck, it's the internet right? MSH I did not get the chance to comment on your "MacArthur Park" but I did enjoy reading your commentary and performance, I look forward to your Chopin recital piece and know you will do it justice.

Does anyone know the latest date we can submit our piece? Greg is laid up in bed with a 102.4 fever, so I don't expect we'll hear from him for a few days. Usually the deadline is a day or two before the e-cital date, so probably October 15th or 16th - but let's wait for confirmation from Greg.

We're probably okay to start taking submissions. I had to add some additional logic to support multiple e-citals, but it is there now. There is also a new "by performer" search capability, under the "View All Submissions" subcategory, which searches all e-citals past and present, and presents a player for those entries from past e-citals. I'm also pleased to report that most of our pages are now W3C-compliant. To submit your recording for this latest e-cital, use the URL below: http://www.ecital.net/ecital/submit.phpI will not be able to contribute 64/3 to this, unfortunately. Hope everyone likes the new look, updated for the Waltzes! **** Not related to the e-cital, but does anyone think it might be appropriate to put together a special ecital page for Phlebas, with just his recordings?

Thanks Elene. An incredible amount of research went into making it this way, bringing it out of 1998 and into 2010, achieving W3C-compliance, and there's a good deal more that could be done. But yes, I'm happy with it as it stands now. I was worried adding a last-minute feature that, instead of the submitted date, puts the title of the ecital under the "Submitted" column. This feature is helpful if you want to search by performer and share your work from all ecitals with your friends, parents, children, teacher, etc. The worry came about because you and I were both working with the same part of the code at the same time, and I had a bug in the first couple of uploads. It would not have affected your submission, however. Cannot wait to hear your Melodia! If it's half as good as your last songs, we're again in for quite a treat. Trills you say? Can't wait!

Elene, Your Melodia offering is delightful. I'm not sure that many players also have great control of their vocal instrument. Thank you.
