Would a set of late answers be tardis?

Frankly, I find the idea of a piano in the Tardis dalektable.

According to the Wikipedia article, the piano already plays a major role in the Tardis:

The distinctive accompanying sound effect — a cyclic wheezing, groaning noise — was originally created in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop by Brian Hodgson. He produced the effect by dragging a set of house keys along the strings of an old, gutted piano. The resulting sound was then recorded and electronically processed with echo and reverb. When employed in the series, the sound is synchronised with the flashing light on top of the police box. The comic strip feature of Doctor Who Magazine traditionally represents the ship's distinctive dematerialisation sound with the onomatopoeic phrase "vworp vworp".

Mattardo might know about the Tardis.

I'm still anxiously awaiting the start of Season 6. Steven Moffat is my hero.

I was kind of a Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker fan myself. Haven't watched it since Baker left.

You must mention: Delia Derbyshire when talking about the BBC Radiophonic Workshop (and Dr Who theme)....

Seriously, give the new ones a look. I think Matt Smith's the best since Tom Baker.

Does he have a sonic screwdriver? Or a really long scarf? laugh

I think some guy named Davidson came on after Baker and I didn't care for him, but I haven't seen any others. The first one I saw was in black and white and there are only 6 seasons?

Yes, to the sonic screwdriver, no to the scarf. (Tom Baker will take that scarf to his grave.)

But let's not forget the episodes in an earlier series (?Colin Davidson) when the chameleon control was working and the Tardis appeared as a pipe organ!

David Tennant gets my vote so far though....

Me too, but the URST (unresolved sexual tension) with Billie Piper made me cry.... And still does

I don't see any reason for the TARDIS to have a piano in it as I can not think of a plot scenario where it would be used and not seem forced.

However, I could easily see a scene where they are at some party or something to that effect and he's playing the piano. Then Amy is says "I didn't know you could play the piano"

Doctor "Neither did I"

something to that effect.

I stopped watching it when Tom Baker left. That was it for me, done. Now my 11 year old step son is into it and I can't stand it!

Seeking some nostalgic fun, I visited Amazon to find that a good many of the episodes I would like to have seen again, are lost due to improper storage. This thread has made me sad. cry

I started watching it sometime in the late sixties, but didn't really follow it until Jon Pertwee came on. The IMDB shows it started in 63 with William Harnell. I remember a cartoon based on the Hartnell version but didn't see the live action version.

Dr Who first ran from 1963 until 1989. The series was rivived by the BBC in 2005 and is currently going strong. There was also an American attempt at revial sometime in the 1990's -a single made for TV movie which was pretty good but didn't lead to a series. There also was/is(?) an animated series and a bunch of Dr Who novelizations. There are also a couple of BBC spin-off - both still in production: The Sarah Jane Adventures, aimed at a younger audience and Torchwood.

Damon, Netflix has or is in the process of getting the extant episodes including the revival series up to Matt Smith -the 2010 series just ended. You can get the Matt Smith episodes on iTunes if you're so inclined.
