You could ask around at your local piano store. Just a thought.

A pianos action is a complex thing. As you can see by the picture, each key on a grand piano has more than 35 points of adjustment. If you want an accurate operating action, even with only one key, this takes precision and time to build as it is not a toy. A vertical piano action has over 25 points of adjustment. $400 is the going rate for a new grand action model.

I've asked around the local shops for a year and a half with no luck on scoring one. I was loaned one for a time, but I did give it back...reluctantly but hey, that's my neighborhood

Pianoloverus, Interesting 400 x 88 is actually 35200!!! Wow, you can get some really nice grands out there! Ya those stuff are really expensive. The cost puts me off from owning one.

I gave one of mine away for nothing to a friend out east. I have another two but, they're mine, all mine! I use these to work on with my son WHEN I can get them to look at them!

I would suggest sending a post to the pianotech list at ptg.org: http://ptg.org/mailman/listinfo/pianotechYou have to subscribe to the list in order to post a message, so I highly recommend signing up for a gmail account that is specifically for the list so your regular email doesn't get flooded with emails.
