Hi, I am looking to purchase my first piano and a young lady at church is moving and says she can't take her piano with her. She said it is a Kranich & Bach that she has had for 20 years. She doesn't know a whole lot about it, but I got her to find the serial number which is 92706. Can anyone tell me anything about this piano based on the serial number?

I wanted to add that I did some searching and it seems that the earlier K&B pianos are oddballs that may not be worth the trouble for someone like me. I think this one was built at least as late as the 70's. I haven't found much information regarding the company during that time.

It was a stencil name for a piano made by either Aeolian or Winter at the time. Neither was a good blood line.

The piano was made in 1967. You should have a tuner/technician look it over for you. He/she needs to inspect the bridges, especially for splits, among many other things on the rest of the piano.
