A dealer offered me a used Victor piano. I've never heard of this brand. So I was wondering if anyone knows about it?

Thanks in advance.

There was a Victor brand out of Chicago in the 1920's... that's all the info I have.

This is probably the Victor brand from Japan of maybe 30 years ago, though.

I did a little research myself on the internet and the bluebook of pianos says "Manufactured by the Bush & Lane Piano Company, in their extensive and finely equipped factory at Holland". Interesting the dealer told me it's made in Australia in the 1970s. Maybe a totally different brand? For the same price I saw a Kawai CX-5 on ebay maybe it'll be a better bet?

Thanks for all the replies.

I had a feeling the Victor pianos out here were Australian, and This Link seems to confirm that. Any I've played have been pretty old heaps. smile

That is Holland, Michigan, in the US. There were a number of piano manufacturers there, as there were a lot of trees in Michigan. Come and Get It, by the great Edna Ferber, is an epic tale of the lumber business in Michigan.

Victor was an older Japanese manufactured piano which the gray market importers brought in to fill their container if a shortage of Yamaha and Kawai to be shipped.
