Super cool!! I wonder what other schools might use 'classic' tunes......

I once got a speeding ticket because of that version of Blue Moon. I got a little carried away singing the bass part. Great little story. I think you woulda been going even faster if you were singing the tenor part. That version is incredible, in every sense of the word. HOW did anyone ever come up with that??? It's so far from the original that I didn't recognize on my own that they were related (partly because I never much hear lyrics). P.S. Did you also ever try the bass part of "Mr. Bassman"? (BTW I think the same guy did the bass part on both original recordings.) Yeah, that's a great part, too. When it comes to "fun factor" do-wop takes the cake. The local PBS station features do-wop on their pledge drives and it drives my girlfriend batty when I turn that on.

"Blue Moon," that put a smile on my face. Speaking of Greace, that's one of my favorite movies.

Hi, I'm a Katchen lover as well! I don't think Brahms really is neglected, just more of a Beethoven follower than others on his time (i.e. Liszt, Wagner, Berlioz...).
