My piano just arrived. The poor movers slogged it to the 4th floor - which would actually be the 5th by north American standards!)
It is a Yamaha P112N-S, 7 years old, with silent option! (You can see a smidge of my digital in this one too..in the bottom corner!

It looks beautiful! I'll bet it has a huge sound in that room with tile flooring.

It looks lovely and fits in perfectly on that wall. You won't be needing that TV set anymore!

What's the fish in the picture btw?

Is it the piano tuna? laugh

lol...... it could be the piano tuna, that's for sure.

I don't think the fish are any identifiable fishies, this is a water colour I picked up in Boston about 20 years ago.

Thanks again everyone - I've been hopping back and forth.... errands, piano, ironing, piano, grocery shopping, piano... I think the neighbours must realize there's been a change smile

Definitely wouldn't have wanted to watch while it was being carried up the steps (or been the one to do it!) but the end result is certainly worth it - beautiful!

So, I've tried out the silent feature. It is a bit weird actually. I can hear the hammers moving around - though they don't actually touch the strings, they still make whomping noises.
It isn't that loud, really, but I was surprised to hear anything. It is worth having that noise though, if it means I have (almost) the same feel as when playing normally.

I'm getting used to the sound - and tonight I met my neighbour from across the hall. She asked me if the piano had arrived.
I said - "you haven't heard it?"... and she said not really. She had noticed it sounded "different" but hardly any louder.
This is very liberating news. I could say because I'm really relieved that I'm not disturbing them - (which is true, up to a point) - my real relief comes from the knowledge that they can't hear enough to notice my mistakes!

Tonight I actually played better, just because I was more relaxed.
I still have to talk to the people downstairs, ..... I hope they respond in a similar fashion!!!
