Rick, I have no words to tell what I feel with your story. Love can be expressed in many ways, and your attitude is beautiful.
Thanks for all your words. Sure I'll be ready soon to play piano again.
Thanks!

I have also detected the differences between US and European healthcare systems in this thread. The doctors/health care system here can be slow and even negligent, too. I kept losing weight over a year, finally down to about 80 pounds, and the dozen or so doctors I saw were no help. Finally, one ordered some scans and then referred me to a surgeon, who did an exploratory laparotomy and found an "abdominopelvic tumor the size of a football". I think my being self-employed and not having good medical coverage affected and slowed down my health care. I have hope now, though, with the new health care reforms by Obama that the insurance companies won't have such a stranglehold on the system here and these companies won't be able to deny people needed procedures.. That's already in effect for children.

Thanks for all the kind and compassionate comments regarding my wife’s condition and my life’s situation. Learning to play the piano has been a wonderful stress-reliever for me. My wife enjoys hearing me play at times too. She especially likes the spiritual music and gospel music; but she likes the boogie-woogie too. :-)
And, Elssa, I’m so glad they found the abdominal-pelvic tumor and removed it. I’ll say a special prayer for you and your health. I love to watch and listen to you play the piano.
I’ve lost over 50 pounds in the last year myself, but I exercised hard and did a lot of sweating on a stair-stepper! I’ve learned that consistency in exercising is the key (just like practicing on the piano:-).
It’s amazing how we can help each other on these PW forums with advice and encouragement; it helps us physically, spiritually, and mentally, as we learn more about each others lives; plus, it helps us learn to play the piano!
Take care,
Rick

Thanks, Rickster. I was so sorry to hear about your wife's problems, and you're both in my thoughts and prayers, too. I certainly have enjoyed your music, especially the boogie-woogie.

XD

Translation for #1551167 by Doremi (using babblefish)
good luck with this operation, I hope you get better quality of life! about your concern ... I think if you anesthesia affect memory, your last concern will be whether or not you remember the piano repertoire ... there is certainly more important things you will not want to forget. anyway worries you more not to agree ahead of time, many people agree but the body stays the same standstill, which is not pleasant. before you worry about it.
