What's the earliest age you can begin a child on the TIME TO BEGIN (initial) Music Tree books?

I don't take beginners before the age of 6. Even then, I expect the parent to be actively involved by attending the lessons and helping at home. I wouldn't use Time to Begin with anyone 8 1/2 or older.

I think 5 or 6 is a good age for Time to Begin. The pieces are very short and are played with fingers 234 at first, so it's good for little hands. I've started 5 year olds in it who did well, and others who didn't do well. It all boils down to the kid's readiness and parental involvement. I once made the mistake of starting a very bright 7 year old in it.
