She was 7 years and 10 months old when this video was recorded. After only 1 year piano education.

She plays quite well. It would seem to me that she doesn't yet fully understand rubato and how to use it effectively, but that is not something one would expect from her age. That will undoubtedly come with time as she matures as a musician. This performance sounds a little perfunctory at the moment in certain spots.

On the other hand, she has very good balance between the hands, and the melody is nicely shaped, for the most part.

That's hilarious!
But haunting....
I would rather listen to that cat's work, than some of the recent composers I had the misfortune of listening to.

I am really annoyed that one of my posts, taken verbatim from another context, would be used by Batuhan in this thread.

S/he can't think of something to say himself, so he steals my words. In a serious context, without attribution, this would be plagiarism. Here, it's a pretty cheap trick!

cannot tell, this piece is too easy. She doesn't sound like anything extraordinary playing this after one year. I could bring bunch of cats playing like that. IMO by definition a cat cennot be good enough except the technicall ability. Cats have nothing to tell yet. smile

When someone takes an offense seriously, being told to "lighten up" really doesn't help.

And, by the way, this wasn't "imitation;" hence, I am not flattered.

Thanks for the belly laughs! Yes, that cat is very good... even considering her young age and limited education. wink And, being a cat-lover deluxe, I think she's just plain cute...

But you do need to lighten up. It was a joke. And it's just a forum ..........

Seven years old for a cat is MUCH older for humans. Nora is "really good" but there are better cats on Youtube. "Really good" is a relative term.

I can't tell if Nora plays all those seconds because they're really in the score or if her technique's a little sloppy.

For my tastes, Nora does a little tpo much hamming for the audience with her continual turning to look at them...kind of like Liberace but without the cheshire cat-like grin. If she really wants to be taken seriously as an artist...
