Tonight has totally put me into the holiday mood. Big pot of chili on the stove, warm fire in woodstove with the dogs curled up in front. Both my children were home at the same time (21 & 19, they usually have much better things to do "out"), a rare occurance these days.
But best of all we wound up in the living room, playing Christmas carols for each other on both pianos...my daughter's boyfriend was over and they both play and son's girlfriend was here too, and we worked on teaching her an elementary version of 'Jingle Bells', so she could participate as well. Four young people (and two 'old') hanging out together and playing piano for each other.
Two hours of sheer joy. I need nothing else for Christmas now; there couldn't be a better gift. I wish the same happiness for you all this season.
Collector of sheet music I can't play.
