Well I may be getting back to playing my favorite instrument of all times!!!!... The organ!
I was looking around town to see if any churches or halls allowed people to practice on their organs. Well of course one near me did!!!!
So he is going to work out with the trustee council on how to get me in, and what it may cost, if anything.
The church has a 1945, 48 rank 3 manual Aeolian- Skinner pipe organ! One of the best american built organ companies in the world!
I am more than thrilled to be able to play the organ again, and pursue an organ related degree from college!

Many thanks, that's a LOT of info there... There may be some 100 Aeolian-Skinner organs made in 1945.
Looking on some stoplists there at random - it seems this company was fond of many tone nuances, but most at 8'. That's what an "Octopod" is ? ;-) Would this be designed to be used with the electric Octave super/sub-coupler instead of drawing the Tower of stops explicitly ?
And I saw very rarely to never any non-octave mutations and mixtures. Was this accepted design at the time ? As the (pre-)Baroque German tradition was here, even the smallest 4-5-stop organ included a Nazard, Tierce and/or Sesquialtera.
[Edit: now saw your city, Omaha/Nebraska. Then 'your' organ is Op 1058 First Central Congregational ? This is much richer than the random 1945 organ and yes, even has some mutations and mixtures... sorry for any derogatory remarks. Congratulation for mastering an American Classic !]

sorry for the bad link!
I copied the link from the opus 1058, but I guess redirects you to the homepage.
Yep its Opus 1058, First central congregational church omaha Ne.
There are a few other skinners in town, but this is the largest of them.

well Kind of.
I have been in a tangled mess with work, and work pays for lessons
I was "hired" 2 months ago.
It took them until literally last week to finally get me in for training. Unpaid training. Now they are still blowing me off after the first day. Saying they will contact me if another time opens up.
So probably in another week I would get another few hours of training in. Training is 2 weeks unpaid too.
Not exactly the most professional of places. So unorganized and rude. Hard to believe since you see burger kings ALL OVER THE WORLD!
Once my job gets going, if I can afford it which I know I probably wont, as I have $200 car insurance and repairs, and gas. And I will be only working a few hours a week knowing them. For $7.25 an hour.
Ugh.

We have a 1930 EM Skinner in town. It needs some major releathering but is a gorgeous instrument with such wonderful voicing. A-S is a high quality instrument. Thank goodness people are realizing their value.
