Hi, I'm DissonantTurtle. This is my first post as I am new to this forum so I thought I'd say Hi.

I decided to put this in the adult beginners as I have only been playing for about six months although I played for a year about 13/14 years ago(man time flies).

My goals are to enter the school of music at a university near me. I would like to get a degree in Music Composition. I have an audition in March and it'll be very competitive as I'll be competing against people who have been playing piano much longer than me. However, I practice a lot, atleast three hours a day but often more(except for days where I just don't have time).

I absolutely love play piano and my only regret is I haven't been doing it all my life.

Welcome to the forum! Don't forget to tell us about your preparation and, of course, the result of you audition in March. Good luck!

Welcome to the forum, and I like your name as well smile. Good for you in following your dreams. It's not an easy thing to be a musician full-time, so as long as you are prepared to wear many hats, you'll do fine.

By preparation do you mean my current practice routine? As of now I start my day off with half an hour of Hanon followed by half an hour of scales chords and arpeggios. Right now I follow that up by spending an hour on a Bach Prelude from the Well Tempered Clavier and than an hour of a Mozart Sonata (Both are pieces I plan on playing in my audition). After that, when I have more time to put in I work on smaller pieces or try to work on other aspects. On a good day I can spend around 8 hours or so studying various aspects of music.

Sounds like you'll fit in just fine! (I had a dissonant turtle once, but it died after like two weeks... Might've been loneliness)
