I once saw a documentary about that. Apparently, if you hit your head in a part of the brain that is "in charge" os something, let's say, artistic, you can develop this kind of geniality.
In the documentary I saw, there was this guy that was hit by a baseball in the head and since he was some kind of painting genious.
Also, this guy Daniel Tammet, had a epilectic seizure when he was young and he bacame a math genious. He wrote a book about it and all.
Very cool.
