Wrapped up today, making up 5 hours missed thanks to the great power outage to 2010. [Linked Image]

How about you? Are you finished teaching for the year?

Finished last week. No more lessons till week of Jan 10.

Except my sister notified me that my niece wants to take lessons, and may begin as early as next week.

I've offered her lessons over the years, and she's always turned me down. She's in 9th grade, plays percussion in band, and has decided piano will help. She seems to have some talent and interest, so we'll see.

No one has mentioned payment. I'm happy to do it for free. But if they mention payment, I'm thinking of telling them, I charge $x, which is what they need to pay if she didn't practice, or cancels a lesson. But if she comes weekly, and has practiced, then there is no charge. smile

I've finished, even though schools here in Switzerland don't finish until tomorrow morning. But I teach quite a few students from international schools, which all closed last week, so half my students aren't even in the country this week.

And it's just as well I've stopped. I fractured my elbow last week and can't play piano anyway!

Taught my last two lessons yesterday and am looking forward to a visit from some family from the other side of the country! Haven't seen them in 2 years. Lots of stuff to do before they get here, so I'm glad to be done teaching for a few weeks.

Finishing up today, and back on the 3rd. Student recital was last Saturday and went well - a nice end to a great semester!

My studio doesn't take winter breaks. There are fewer students during this time of the year, but some families take only one week off for travel. I'm actually glad both Christmas and New Year's Day fall on Saturdays this time.

I finish teaching tomorrow. Parents still wanted me to teach this week to partially keep some routine during these crazy holiday times. I will return to teaching on the 4th, so just a short break but I definitely need it!

After today, I'll be done until January 3rd. I'll have two long weekends from my day job so I'll have some time to re-evaluate lesson plans and put together some fun new stuff for the new year!

Teaching thru Thurs. Back on the 3rd.

Public schools and colleges got out last week. So far this week, teaching has been really pleasant. All but one student came to lessons totally prepared - for the first time since before Thanksgiving!

I actually have lessons tomorrow and probably next week as well. Apparently a few of my students think it's fun to have lessons with me (and who am I to argue over THAT?) laugh

EDIT: Ben? NAMM??!?!?! I'm SO jealous! I can only get as far as Frankfurt and the musikmesse with is NOT the same (althoug the piano section and the scores section were great last year).

Excuse the off topic please...

I'm in similar with Nikolas, I'm teaching today, tomorrow, then again next week Tuesday through Thursday. Actually leaving shortly to get to the studio to teach (as it's only almost 3:00pm here).

I finished last Thursday, but had a makeup scheduled for today. Well, she cancelled, so I'M FREE until January 3. In two days, I'm off to London for a week! (Pray Heathrow stays open!!)

Actually, it's not for pleasure - I'm working there as a demonstrator, which means I get practically no time at all to explore the exhibition as much as I'd like to!

Last double lesson of the year, today, for me.
Twins,one piano,one guitar.
Both ADHD, (according to the parents;), but both a joy to teach.
2010 ended on a good note :-)

Today is my last day of regular lessons. Next week I have make-ups on Monday (for when I was sick) and then the first week in Jan. I'm off to Florida to have voice lessons with my teacher (I think it's great he lives in a warm place!). So no more teaching really until Jan. 10th for me! I love teaching, but it's time for a break.

From what I can determine, both are about the same size, 1,500 exhibitors. I haven't been to NAMM, but my sense is, from reports, that it's more weighted to the electronics, and the Musikmesse is more weighted to the acoustic. I have been to the Messe many times, and will be attending this coming April.
