OP msks Full Member Joined: May 2008 Posts: 234 lawrence,KS	On a grand what causes high upweights if the downweights are normal? An example might be a key with 54 down and 39 up. How do you decrease the upweight but maintain the downweight? Thanks Msks

Gene Nelson 2000 Post Club Member G Joined: Sep 2004 Posts: 2,685 Old Hangtown California	Using your numbers the difference divided by 2 is the friction and 7.5g is on the low side so you might look for loose centers or wobbling flanges. An increase in friction will increase the downweight as well as decreasing upweight. A reasonable friction range is 10 to 12 in bass tapering to 8 to ten in treble. x-rpt retired ptg member
