I just wanted to say hi, for the first time in THREE YEARS!! Sorry I sorta dropped off the planet, descended into hades, but made it back alive. Anyway, good to be back at Piano World. I had to get rid of my piano a couple years ago, and just got a Yamaha synth to get going again, and am thrilled to be playing piano again.

Learning Moonlight Sonata, Clair de Lune, and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring. I am particularly drawn to film music, some classical, and a little jazz, new age, and everything else. Should have something ready for the next online recital.

Cheers!

Let me be the first to say Welcome!

Also I note that you, too, are in the
“Have No Real Piano – Just A Yam Keyboard” Club.

Well, good luck to you with your repertoire.

I see you’re working on “Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring”, amongst others.

I played the Dame Myra Hess Version, as a kid. Which version is do you have?

I, for one am looking forward to your online recital…Keep practising then!

I shouldn't go to the music store. I had to go pick up an adapter at Guitar Center over the weekend and of course passed through the digital piano section. The action on the more expensive weighted key DPs makes me very sad when I come home to my Yamaha but money is tight.

ONE DAY! smile

Thank you. I have a decent pro yamaha stage synth, the S08 with pretty heavy weighting. It's a nice start.

I am learning kind of a modern slightly jazzy version of Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring by Joel Rosenberger. He's posted it at this forum a while back. He's an independent pianist.
