I have a student who is looking for an affordable digital piano. I recommended the Casio PX-130, but they talked to a local dealer who is selling a used but apparently well-maintained Roland RD-170 for about $500.

Does anyone have one and what do you think? He's looking mainly for a piano for playing classical music, not necessarily for gigging. I know finding a DP is very specific to a person's tastes, but I'd hate for them to spend money on a used instrument that wasn't that great.

What other options are out there in the $500 price range?
