After much research on the web (thanks to this forum for so much useful information) and visiting some piano shop, I narrowed down to three choices, YDP-V240/CE200/CN33, for my 8yr old to uprev from a keyboard.

I liked CE200 over YDP-V240 (CE200 has wooden key, YDP-V240 has GHS), is within the budget, till I read that CE200 use older sound recording tech compared to CN33. However, CN33 doesn't have wooden keys like CE200.

Any experience and guidance people on this forum could share to narrow the decision will help.

Thanks.

Hi, I have the CN-33 and I love it. I was comparing it with the Yamaha CLP-340 and I preferred the action on the CN-33. It felt more like a piano. So far the CN-33 has been perfect for me but I'm a beginner. I don't have any complaints about it at all.

I don't know much about wooden keys. I do play on an acoustic at the grandparent's house and it's a different feel. I play it on twice a week (whenever I'm there) and when I get home I don't dislike the CN-33 so I think the CN-33 action is close enough.

The CN-33 has USB midi, can read midi files off USB drives. That's a nice feature. I put in a USB stick with classical music on it and it sounds wonderful.
