I recently volunteered at an old age home and they requested I play some Jewish songs. They gave me a song list without any sheet music to go along with it.
Any idea where to get the free sheet music online? Google didn't come up with any great results.
All I need is the melody line, the sheet doesn't have to be for piano.
Please visit, listen and comment smile

You might try sending a PM to "pianojerome". He's our PW scholar when it comes to Jewish music.
Best regards,

How about saying the titles of the songs?

Yes, let us know which titles were requested. I work with a lot of nationalist Jewish music that uses Jewish folk melodies, so I might know of some that include the tunes you want.

In the meantime, take a look at my webpage, which includes some of this Jewish classical music based on Jewish folk melodies -- if you only want the melodies, you could look at non-piano music:

Of the scores on that site, some very popular Yiddish tunes are "Di mezinke oysgegebn" (Petersburg #29), "Hebreyishe viglid" (Petersburg #39), "El Yibneh Hagalil" (Petersburg #43), "Lomir zikh iberbetn" (Petersburg #48), and "A tantsimprovization" (Petersburg #59).

Here's a fantastic setting of "Hava Nagila", by the symbolist composer Alexander Krein --

Wedding March (from the incidental music to "On the Penance Chain")

You might want to take a look at Engel's "50 Children's Songs":

50 Children's Songs

Also, there are some great piano miniatures by Jacob Weinberg:

Folksongs from Jewish Life

And Joel Engel:

10 Jewish Folk Songs, for solo piano

5 Piano Pieces, Op. 19

I have tons more on my computer -- let me know what titles you need and I'll see if I can help.

Nice reply. But I wouldn't take his post too seriously when he's so vague and then doesn't help us better to help him when we offer to.
