Have played this since first on the market. Of the last several years in tandem with a Motif Rack ES into a Motion Sound combo. Home/studio use only.

Recently started considering a single board that would have excellent acoustic piano sounds, exc key action, with the additional sounds of a separate rack box. That said, I use and play the P200's acoustic grand the vast majority of time that I play, so that is the biggest concern (I use a couple of the rack's EP sounds quite a bit as well).

Took a quick look (I don't follow the industry much) and my head is spinning with options. So I'd happy to hear any and all suggestions for a new unit. Should add that despite the Motion Sound combo, I do use the onboard speakers of the P200 quite a bit. Never could nail it, but there are times that the physical response of the P200 to the onboard speaker output gives a satisfying 'something' to the playing. That said, the P200 output to the amp is very good; not so the somewhat lifeless acoustic piano sounds of the rack unit.

thanks in advance for any/all

Do you require the instrument to have built-in speakers? Also, which sounds (acoustic pianos, electric pianos) do you use most frequently?

I believe a stage piano such as the Roland RD-700NX, Kawai MP6/MP10, Yamaha CP5, or Nord Piano should all be on your list of considerations.

Cheers,
James
