Do you think having sex right before going on stage is good or bad for the performance?

Also, do you think that NOT having sex for about or week before is good or bad?

I've got a big concert coming up so I thought I´d take the opportunity to experiment a bit, just haven't decided if I should "do" or "do not" smile

Anyone tried this?

Just when I was getting bored of the usual threads on PW.... laugh

I personally think that having sex DURING the concert is the best way to insure a standing "O".

Are you planning an ensemble, a duet or a series of solo performances before the concert?

I could give a long boring scientific answer that could explain all the benefits of sex in a mature, graceful manner....but screw it..

Sex is just great, and when it is with someone you love even better.

Overall depends how tired you feel after. I would be for it, but I usually feel energized after.

These are some of my theories, but since I haven't tried them yet I'm looking for feedback:

"Doing it" right before should make me more relaxed, however Im concerned that it will make me too realxed and tired so I'll lose my edge...

However, in sports I have heard it's quite common to NOT have sex for some days or even weeks before the big game, as it makes the athletes hungrier and more riled up. Do you think that approach works for piano too? It's kind of a physical sport at this level right?

Depends...do you want it to turn out like a scene from Raging Bull?

Try it and give us a report afterwards

The notes I handle no better than many pianists. But the pauses between the notes - ah, that is where the art resides! - Schnabel

We have a name for that in the UK, though it's usually done in a car.

I can't believe that someone would ask this question, seriously expecting respondents to reveal their sexual acitivies in a public forum, or would feel that there is a relationship between performance in the sheets and performance at the keyboard, or wouldn't realize that results would undoubtedly vary from individual to individual and would be dependent upon time between one performance and the other performance.

Abstain weeks before a performance? Let's pity the busy concertizer, or his/her mate, I guess, who would have to go a whole season without indulging.

What nonsense!

Are you using the sheets?

Composers manufacture a product that is universally deemed superfluous—at least until their music enters public consciousness, at which point people begin to say that they could not live without it.

I guess if the concert is a success you can be guaranteed sex after the concert. I thought this was the primary purpose of all those solitary hours of practice.

If you're a write you have a reading in order to ... keep things interesting.

Celibacy can be a choice in life or a condition imposed by circumstances.

While attending a "Marriage Weekend" Tom and his wife, Diane, listened as the instructor declared, "It is essential that husbands and wives know the things that are important to each other."

He then addressed the men, "For instance, can you name and describe your wife's favorite flower?"

Tom leaned over, touched Diane's arm gently, and whispered, "Gold Medal All-Purpose, isn't it?"

...and thus began Tom's life of celibacy.
