I realize we are only one small part of the real piano world, but it's heartening to see us continuing to grow and attract more piano lovers.

6,397,939 Unique Visitors!

That's over SIX MILLION UNIQUE visitors to Piano World in 2010!

December 2010 was our best month yet for Piano World Visitors.

In Dec. 2010 we had our best single month, welcoming 573, 596 unique visitors and posting over 10 Million Page Views in One Month!

Total page views for 2010 came to 97,877,680.

My thanks to all who found Piano World interesting enough to drop by, and hopefully to hang around a bit.

Welcome to you all, and please do tell your friends to drop by, we'd love to "meet" them.

Screen Capture of Stats

Another interesting stat:
We are averaging 30,000 to 35,000 outbound clicks a week.
These are clicks on links leading out of Piano World, to our advertisers web sites and to other sites our forums posters are listing.

All I can say is, if I was in the piano business this is the web site I'd want to be advertising on :-)

I am not surprised with that number, knowing how much attention I pay to this forum myself. It has helped me a lot in the past, so I have every reason to believe that that would be the case in future too.

Congratulations, Frank. Even my non-piano-playing or non-musical friends now know about PW.

Frank,

Congrats!

But I thought shameless self promotion was a breach of etiquette on this forum?

Amazing numbers. Congrats. Glad to see so many still interested in pianos. Hope this will translate into greater piano sales for the industry.

Have you guys considered a redesign? Does anybody actually (meaning a relevant percentage of visitors) use the services provided on the home page?

Hi drexel,

I've considered a redesign for years now.
Technology and design have changed a lot since I first built this version of the site.

The problem is costs.
Other than the forums, classified ads, and pianos for sale, the rest of the site is static html.
I built nearly 1000 pages myself, one by one, by hand.

Which means not only a redesign, but also porting all the existing content into the new design.

And yes, most of the areas listed in the drop down menus on the main site get used.
Not necessarily because someone found the site and is using the menus (although that obviously happens too), but often because they were searching on Google/Yahoo/Bing/etc. and landed in one of our pages.

In particular our classified sections, piano exchange (pianos for sale)and fun stuff (music word searches, music puzzles, chord/scale application, online piano, etc.) get a lot of traffic.

But really most of the site sees traffic.

Using the example at the start of this thread, the forums served up about 5 million of the page views, with the rest of the site serving up the other 5 million.

So yes, I'd love to do a redesign, but business isn't that great and I just don't have it in the budget.

As it is I'm working on upgrading our online store (www.PianoSupplies.com is our store).

I don't see any need for 're-design' from a "design" standpoint, nor regarding user-friendliness. If you're talking rather about business aspects, that could be another story, I don't know; I'm just talking about what I can see.

no surprise. Any question or information or even comparisons to do with piano's usually had front page links in google directed at this site.

Didn't matter if the debates for 4 years old. Top page links. Even yahoo answers usually directs toward here.

I noticed that your opening page got a face lift. It's nice and I like that it isn't super high tech.

Where do you find that statistics telling how many member there are?
