I'm surprised other instrumentalists have hardly been mentioned...I would certainly enjoy as a spouse/ significant other someone to collaborate with musically, be it with vocal works, or as I seem to fancy string players.

I did but but you may not notice. I fancy string players as well. But preferably he can play the piano a bit as well smile

I prefer that my lover leave my piano the hell alone.

There are strict, standing orders not to touch the piano, the lamp, the music, the bench, or anything else. And I mean it.

I've never had a lover that could play a musical instrument, but I'm pretty sure I would be in the "I don't care" camp.

Baritones, really? But they're such divas (as are most singers haha). Cellists, yes... there's something about them... If I wasn't dating a pianist, I would've probably dated a cellist.

Every singer I've worked with has been -in a sense- a diva. I've only worked with a few 'cellists, but didn't feel they were divas. One of them, a very beautiful lass about your age, Angelina, was as beautiful to look at as was her playing. We did the Beethoven Op 69 a few years ago. I loved every moment of it.

Yeah..but no worries. I am pretty good in the diva department myself.. laugh

The thing is, (very good) singers just have it.. After a while, they barely practice. They get perennially "coached" and they drink a lot of water.. So when they act pompously, it is a bit more fitting than the ever toiling pianists..

I dated my piano teacher a few years back laugh. Free lessons didn't work out as well as you'd think - the relationship is too informal.

Yes, I've noticed that playing the cello seems to er "impress" some people. But I prefer to play the piano!

The OP made me laugh as well, hehe.

No, five dogs, Jason. They have a favored den under the piano. Sometimes I get under there, and I can see why they like it--- great cover, you can see everything that goes on, and it's just the right size. Very cool-looking ceiling, too.

I've never had a girlfriend that played an instrument, or even listened to classical music for that matter.

My husband plays the guitar very occasionally and every time he sits down to play, I feel jealous and have a strong desire to go sit at my piano. I don't think I could live with someone who also played the piano. Except my kids because I'm their teacher.
